Abstract

Turning off the house light is still done manually or still using the switch, of course it can take more time just to walk towards the light switch that will be turned off. In addition, the lack of parental supervision of their children in the home does not rule out the possibility of children with wet hands playing with a light switch and is very dangerous if electrocuted by the switch and also if the condition of the switch is not suitable for use or has been damaged which is certainly very dangerous if still in use. Therefore, speech recognition technology is needed as a substitute for manual switches to be more practical and safer to use. The method used in this study is the prototype method, with stages starting from requirements analysis, system design, prototype making, and system testing until the system is ready for use. The results obtained from the research carried out are the creation of a home light control device that utilizes an application that is on the Smartphone, Google Assistant and also with a NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller. The conclusion that can be drawn from this discussion is how to design and build a home lighting control system by using the Google Assistant application on the Smartphone, so that the lights will be easily controlled just by saying commands / words in accordance with those previously made.
