Design and Build Student Attendance System Using Fingerprint

Student attendance at school is the presence and participation of students physically and mentally towards school activities during effective hours at school. Given the importance of the meaning of attendance, it is necessary to have a tool that can regulate the attendance process to be more accurate and efficient. Honesty and time discipline are mandatory in the school attendance process. Student attendance is carried out like most schools in general where students will be absent when they enter the class and the parents / guardians of these students will not know whether their children really come to school. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) as a process or steps to develop a new product or improve the hardware implementation of the NodeMCU board, ESP8266 wifi, Fingerprint sensor, RTC, LCD, Buzzer, DC - DC Converted, and power supply. 12V with whatsapp application and microcontroller programming. The purpose of this research is to make it easier for schools to recapitulate student attendance and provide information on student attendance at school via WhatsApp to parents / guardians as a form of reporting on student learning progress so that the education system can run well. The results obtained by the Fingerprint sensor can work well when identifying the fingerprint that occurs when pressing the Fingerprint device then processed by the NodeMCU microcontroller. The microcontroller is able to operate properly in processing input data from sensors and forwarding it to the ESP8266 wifi module to send each sensor data to the WhatsApp application. The whatsapp application can function properly in receiving data from NodeMCU via the internet then displaying it in the twilio chat as a third party to channel presence information through the whatsapp application
